Recovery isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity

At Good Forme Pilates, we believe that recovery is as vital as movement. That’s why we’ve transformed a dedicated space into our Recovery Room—exclusively available to clients of GFP. This sanctuary is designed to help you rejuvenate, heal, and achieve optimal performance.

Infrared sauna

Detoxify, rejuvenate, and invigorate your body. Experience the benefits of our state- of-the-art Sunlighten mPulse Smart Infrared Sauna, which uses light to gently raise your core body temperature from within, offering a soothing and effective heat therapy session. The infrared wavelengths target your body at a cellular level, boosting blood circulation and stimulates your lymphatic, immune, and cardiovascular systems. Unlike traditional saunas that heat the surrounding air, infrared technology utilizes panels that emit wavelengths for deep, gentle warmth without humidity.

    • Enhances detoxification and strengthens immunity

    • Boosts energy levels and heart health

    • Promotes healing and improves skin health

    • Supports muscle recovery and pain relief

    • Elevates mood, enhances relaxation and improves sleep quality

  • The infrared sauna will be preheated for you and we will show you how to use it. Choose varying programs between 30 to 45 minutes in our private infrared sauna. You’ll have up to an hour of access to the Recovery Room, allowing you to fully unwind.

Attire: Bring a bathing suit and a towel to sit on (towel rentals available for $3). Complimentary washcloths are provided for after your session to dry off.

Hydration: Ensure you’re well-hydrated before and after your session. Bring a water bottle to stay refreshed.

Relaxation: Feel free to bring a book or connect your device to the sauna’s Bluetooth speakers to enjoy your favourite podcast or playlist.

We recommend leaving your phone outside the sauna + keep sauna temperature between 45-65 degrees celsius to reap maximum benefits.

  • We recommend consulting with your doctor/physician prior to the use of infrared sauna or red light/compression therapy.

Pregnant or lactating women should NOT use red light or infrared sauna.

Individuals who are using prescriptive drugs should seek advice from doctors as some medications may induce drowsiness, while others may affect heart rate, blood pressure and circulation.

Some over the counter drugs such as antihistamines may cause the body to be more prone to heat stroke.

Individuals who are known to be photosensitive, or have experienced photosensitivity reactions in the past should NOT use infrared or red light.

Compression therapy

Accelerate recovery and enhance circulation with targeted compression. Our Normatec III Compression Therapy Boots utilize dynamic air compression to massage your legs, promoting faster recovery and improved circulation.

This treatment is perfect for anyone looking to relieve post-workout fatigue, improve flexibility, or simply give their legs a moment to unwind. Whether you’re an athlete, a frequent traveler, or someone who spends long hours on your feet, compression therapy can help you feel lighter, looser, and ready to move.

    • Eases muscle soreness by improving circulation and reducing lactic acid buildup

    • Supports lymphatic drainage to reduce swelling and inflammation

    • Increases flexibility and range of motion

    • Enhances oxygen delivery to muscles for improved performance

    • Helps prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT), making it ideal for frequent travelers or those with sedentary lifestyles

  • During your 30 or 45 minute session, you’ll experience a gentle, pulsating pressure that massages your legs. You’ll have up to an hour of access to the Recovery Room, allowing you to fully unwind before and after your therapy.

Attire: As your legs are getting “squeezed”, please wear socks and athletic wear like leggings or track pants. To ensure maximum comfort during the session, avoid jeans or pants with zippers.

  • Bring along a water bottle to hydrate, and your favourite playlist or book to unwind.

    Infrared Sauna:

    • Attire you feel comfortable to sweat in, we recommend bathing suit or sports bra + shorts for maximum skin exposure to allow rays to penetrate.

    • A bath towel to sit on. (towel rental available for $3) Complimentary wash cloths are available to dry off.

    • Loose fitting comfortable clothes to put on after.

    Compression Therapy:

    • Please wear socks and athletic wear like leggings/ track pants. Avoid jeans or pants with zippers.

  • Although sweating is a natural sign that your body is detoxifying and cooling down, the benefits of an infrared sauna go beyond just the amount of sweat. The infrared heat penetrates deep into your tissues, providing therapeutic effects regardless of how much you sweat.

  • Traditional saunas or steam saunas heat the air around giving you that hot, humid and sweaty sauna experience. Infrared saunas, also known as dry saunas, have no steam and warm your core body temperature more gently.

Infrared wavelengths deliver a deep cellular level heat that soothes sore muscles, stimulates the lymphatic, immune and cardiovascular systems in a way that steam saunas cannot. Infrared saunas also operate at a lower temperature than traditional saunas, making longer sessions more enjoyable and significantly more beneficial for your body and mind.

  • Though you can bring your phone in for a short period of time, we don’t recommend it. The high sauna temperatures will overheat your phone, similar to leaving it in direct sunlight or inside a car on a hot day.

  • We suggest waiting at least 30 minutes after your sauna session before showering, as your core body temperature will continue to rise for 30-60 minutes afterward. If possible, it’s ideal to wait until your body returns to its normal temperature before showering.

We do not have shower facilities at GFP.

  • We recommend at least twice a week. By making recovery part of your weekly wellness routine you will gain the most benefits. You can even use it daily, depending on your goals or health concerns. If you have specific medical considerations, be sure to check in with a healthcare professional.
